Being a DJ requires the mindset of a scientist. One must know deeply the groove-its beginning, middle parts and ending. Then to know the crowd they play for...or to know what they play for them will be received with open arms.
A DJ knows the reason they are there: to perform, to entertain, to uplift and/or inspire, to make people dance and/or sing along. To testify. To realize. To come together for one common cause. Are you getting the REAL point I am making here?? I have been a DJ all of my life-even before I picked up my friend Brian's headphones that first time to play his records on his equipment. I would soon get my own and obsess over the mechanics...for many long months. I wrecked hundreds of records in the process and am among the reason some artists did so well...because I kept buying doubles of all the records I played. I mentioned a childhood friend Brian. He formed a crew; we had two DJs and two emcees. The emcees were good too. We all practiced a lot, took it seriously. We stayed tight, we tested what we learned on our community and expanded past that. It never dawned on me we were part of a change in how music would impact lives worldwide. The DJ is the most important musician on the planet. He (and now she) break records, introduce artists, sounds, styles and anything else in a way people would otherwise not accept. If I weren't a DJ I would be Boring for a living. Not that Boring is so bad. But that would be me. Boring makes a great living, has a beautiful family, pays his bills on time and has a routine that rarely changes. I am easy going but music and being a DJ kept Boring at bay. I wouldn't change anything. Would you? Well you can't. I am glad of that. Because we would never have met like this. Tell Boring to make sure he listens to my mixes, comes to my parties and live shows. #story #godisadj #godmc #whoareyou#purge #motivation #djfreedomlives#elevation #musicmatters #lifeisbetter#PeacefulJourney #happytobehere
