Mix To Go Radio is here!
We are a little late getting on the air but you know the saying-good things come to those who wait...for us! To bring those of you who are not familiar with the history of Mix To Go you should take a look at our FACEBOOK PAGE NOTES as well as our ABOUT US page. You can listen to archives of our shows on our MIX TO GO RADIO page. Please submit any new music to [email protected] and be sure to include all of your information-song title, artist name, and record label (if it applies). The show schedule is as follows at launch: (NOTE: shows will always be posted by 7PM of that particular day but may appear earlier-never later!) Tuesdays: "Rhythm & Soul Lounge" A two (2) hour journey into soulful R&B, hip-hop and jazzy global tunes. Always mixed with flair by DJ FREEDOM. Thursdays: "Dance After Dark" Two (2) hours of great dance music from a house base. Each week various sub-themes will be featured, and occasionally other DJs and their mixes will be featured. Resident MTG Radio DJ FREEDOM spins otherwise. Fridays: "Mix To Go Magazine" and "Fade To Black" (alternating weeks) A 60-90 minute show featuring news about Mix To Go Magazine or Black Professionals Global Alliance (Fade To Black). We also feature new music, recording/performance artist interviews, community info, nightlife updates and a lot more. Full descriptions of each show will be featured on the MIX TO GO RADIO page. Other shows may be added down the line but for now this is what we are about. We are not taking on any other shows at this time but appreciate the love we can get for the ones we already have. We also welcome your comments and critique. Enjoy! Freedom & Martina Mix To Go Massive | Mix To Go Radio | Mix To Go Magazine

Mix To Go Massive
in association with Mix To Go Magazine + Mix To Go Massive Present "Social In The City" @ Zanzibar 645 9th Avenue (45th Street and 9th Avenue) Midtown Manhattan near Times Square, New York City NY NY 10036 (917) 405-4423 for Freedom, group organizer This will be our second gathering for Mix To Go this year. This one is at Zanzibar, an easier to travel to location for some I am told! It is in midtown and is curiously luxurious. For now-for this particular event, come as you are, it's free, and bring a friend. Plan to make friends! Drink specials...the usual happy hour stuff (2 for 1) and the restaurant will be open. The food is great and the music will of COURSE be great 'cause yours truly will spin. ;) Give me a call or send an email if you have questions, comments or want to help me organize! Cheers! Freedom | Group Organizer/Founder Mix To Go Massive + Mix To Go Magazine In association with Mix To Go Radio www.socialtravelers.info | www.meetup.com/mixtogomassive www.facebook.com/mixtogo | (212) 252-2528 During the summer of 2009 for about a month an internet radio station came along and asked me to produce a show or two at a time when I had no interest in producing anything for the medium. After my experience with that outfit I remembered why I left the business.
Over the last couple months, I have been reviewing the possibilities of returning to the medium of internet radio because (1) MUSIC is still not getting enough circulation-especially R&B/soul, house and independent artists; (2) TALK is exploited to no end online but much of it isn't saying anything. In order for ME to do it, the bar has to be raised. This is my attitude about everything I do, but especially for virtual radio. Thanks to a realization that I can air all of my shows through the same medium I can host my website on, I decided to give it a go. A MIX TO GO that is. So as of this coming Friday, February 19, 2010, a re-birth will occur. To get the full story on the initial launch of my very own internet radio station SPIN RADIO FM, go to my site www.socialtravelers.info for the story on the "ABOUT US" page. This site is NOT the relaunch of that name. I laid it to rest in the early part of 2009 and think it should stay that way. The new launch will be called MIX TO GO RADIO! MIX TO GO RADIO The formula to success is revealed when one learns to keep things simple. Stupid? Only if you don't. TWO shows will air weekly and TWO shows will air bi-monthly (okay that's twice a month). "Mix To Go Magazine" Friday, February 19 will be the first show to air! It will be 90 minutes and it will feature new music, travel news, an events calendar and more. "Rhythm & Soul Lounge" will air next Tuesday, February 23 and be 2 hours weekly. "Dance After Dark" will air next Thursday, February 25 and also be 2 hours weekly. Those two shows will primarily be continuous mixes by me (DJ FREEDOM) with minimal (if any) talking. "Fade To Black" will launch Friday, February 26 and be sponsored by BPGA (Black Professionals Global Alliance). This show will be 90 minutes and feature a variety of topics affecting black people worldwide-but especially here in the states. There will of course be music but it won't always be DJ-driven mixes as it will be with the other shows. Look for this SEVEN (7) hours of broadcast hours each week to also feature video segments for our youtube channel, which ironically is called www.youtube.com/spinradiofm. How cool is that. :) Keep up with all that Mix To Go Radio is doing online: www.socialtravelers.info or www.facebook.com/mixtogo. Pardon this "repeat" of my last playlist. It was posted to my blog, which I am moving some of the most important posts here. For now you can still see all the blogs HERE.
