MIX TO GO RADIO is up and running! We are excited about the launch of our internet radio station. It features new R&B, neo-soul, deep and soulful house, reggae remixes, club hits and dance anthems.
Much of what you will hear from day to day will be the best these formats have to offer. There is so much good music out there we can't imagine a radio station programming music any other way; no repeat plays of the same 40 songs all day. You will only hear the same songs 2x a day at the most-that is our version of "heavy rotation"-unless we are hosting DJ-oriented mix shows. Speaking of DJs and their mix shows, you will find plenty of both here hence the name of our station, "Mix To Go Radio." It is just what it says it is: a radio station with mixes you can go with...or take wherever you go. Our show schedule will be posted sometime this week-hopefully by the time most people read this post it will be on our radio station's page. If not bear with us as we get things together! DJs: if you would like to join our roster you can submit your mix link to [email protected]. Freedom is the Music Director. Guidelines to how our shows are to be produced will be given when you respond. Artists: See the above and submit links to your music, videos etc but especially your music. We add new music 3x a week-Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Team members: We are looking for radio personalities who would like to develop a show for one of our available time slots. For our first season we will begin with 6 DJ-oriented shows and 6 shows that involve personalities so there is room for you to grow! In addition we'd like to bring on board a couple of publicists, ad sales people (2) and two program directors-one for our all-dance station Spin Radio FM (launching this winter) and our community and music station, Community Square Radio (launching next spring). Advertisers: Get the word out about your products and/or services. Our audience consists of people who love music, travel, go to parties, clubs, live shows, sightseeing...pretty much what all of us do! Send a note about your interest in advertising to [email protected]. One of us will get back to you with a rate package. Listeners: You are the MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE. We welcome your feedback and hope you will call in during our live shows (we'll let you know when these take place right here, on our Twitter page (click there for the link and follow us). Your input is important to us and helps us to program music you like based on the formats we cater to. We will be hosting a series of station launch parties around NYC and Brooklyn during the months of September and October, then beyond as time goes on. Mix To Go Radio...the way music was meant to be heard! As always...stay in touch and...#stayintune! Watch this space for weekly links to mixes produced by DJ FReedom. You can also go to the "IN THE MIX" page and listen (or even download) podcasts from previous shows and events.Since the launch of Mix To Go Magazine in 2008, booking DJs and artists has been an uphill battle. Many of the companies that claim to have access to some of the artists they represent tend to hike their prices, falsify information about their lists and/or represent in an unprofessional manner.
Amplified Talent Bookings (originally "State Of The ARTist Bookings") has been in business since the summer of 2010. This August they celebrate 3 years of representing top DJs, recording artists and celebrities. The firm recently re-launched their WEBSITE and feature a high end selection known as their "hot list." In addition to the biggest names in entertainment, Amplified Talent Bookings also represent local, independent artists. Contact them directly at [email protected] or (347) 450-4AMP When we post videos it is a big deal...because we haven't been since the year began!
If you remember our older website we were always posting videos. A sign we weren't doing enough events and spending too much time online. Now we struggle to maintain our website's current standings because we ARE doing 3-4 parties and/or shows every week! What does any of this have to do with this post? Everything. This song and video version of it are great. It came as a surprise because the version #djfreedomlives plays is his own version along with the original and Armando's version (you'll just have to come to the parties to hear it for yourself). Speaking of which, you see our weeklies POSTED HERE but you can hear THIS remix at Sutra on Fridays at Sutra (see our EVENT PAGE) and if not, then just send an email to [email protected]. If you are NOT in NYC then tell us where you are and we'll tell you how songs and videos like this can be part of your life. :D Until soon, #partyresponsibly
Each year, Memorial Day Weekend is the "unofficial" launch of summer. This was first begun by a number of club promoters in the late 80's and early 90's who left NYC and traveled to Miami to produce some of the hottest parties at hotels, pool parties and of course nightclubs. What set these events apart was the vastness of the turnout. Thousands flocked to Miami Beach and the most incredible DJ lineups, celebrities and tourists all came together for a great time.
Hollywood jumped on the bandwagon with the release of big summer movies and the music industry was also in, launching major singles that were "leaks" during the spring and breakout hits by Memorial Day Weekend. I famously remember how every year there was a major house release and a major hip-hop release during the Winter Music Conference...or a cross between the two in other formats. In recent years I have heard the rumblings of party promoters complain that "Miami is done," "Miami is old news," "I'm doing my weekend getaway in the Caribbean now," etc. Is this to say the once-favorite place in the southeast region has lost its power?? Of course not! Not if you travel to SoBe during that weekend each year. Anyone who thinks "The Beach" has lost its allure has lost their ability to see what is going on. I also know that is a selling point for what they are doing elsewhere so let's look beneath the surface of such comments and conversations. If you ever hear them then ask "have you been to Miami Beach lately?" Forget "well my friend said" as a response because that just doesn't cut it. Have YOU been there lately?!?! "MIX TO GO MIAMI" is my concept for people who remember the way it used to be, know how it is right now and how it will be in the future. Miami is constantly reinventing itself, and nightlife and other industries are always flourishing because of this constant elevation for self-improvement of the economy. This party weekend features local DJs and DJs like myself who travel there to partake in one of a few select events that are the memories that insiders carry with them long after Memorial Day Weekend is over. We have selected certain nightclubs and ultra lounges in and around the South Beach, Miami area in hopes that we can satisfy the various tastes and needs of party goers this particular weekend. The flyer pictured above is one of the main nights we are producing. Mix To Go Magazine will cover it, Mix To Go Massive will be producing it in association with a couple of promotion teams from Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. Be sure to RSVP by either emailing [email protected] or send a text to me directly: (305) 707-4730 (DO NOT CALL). See you on the beach!
