DJ Frass is on fire, a Caribbean DJ to be reckoned with. We will present the news on shen this will launch as soon as it hits!
This issue of MIX TO GO MAGAZINE is a change from what we normally do. We reversed the order of the sections ("In The Mix" is in the back and "Amplified" is in the front). We've also deleted "Community Sq" indefinitely and will return with "On The Go" (party and event listings) next issue.
This issue's focus is on the hottest venues in New York City. We selected a number of lounges and nightclubs that are in various neighborhoods and showed you the interior. Part of the reason for this is a new endeavor to present venues available for bookings. Notice how we left the names of the venus out; we don't want people calling and going to them without notice. Why the addition of so much venue focus? Mix To Go Magazine is a promotional tool for Freedom & Martina to promote their businesses...and the businesses of their associates, period. If you go back to all of the issues you will notice the thread between us has always been there-and that of the promoters, DJs, event producers and community organizations we promote...all based on our own connections and relationships. Why not promote ourselves?? Wouldn't you? You'll notice this issue is a double-month issue-first time in many months we've done this. It is time-consuming to construct each issue, and we don't promote Mix To Go Mag as a traditional magazine we sell. When we print it we give it away. Online subscriptions are just that-the issue is bundled into a PDF and we give it away to anyone who asks for it. Our "Mix To Go Massive" group on Facebook is filled with music people who get the benefit of the magazine in the day to day posts of not only Martina and I but also of our entire team-spread all over the world. This is why you don't see a "staff" listing. We don't have one! When we did the turnover was too much to deal with because people see us as a stopover during their rise to stardom and/or success. We are good with that. The schedule for the next series of issues is as follows (subject to change of course!) VOLUME 5 #66 - September 2013 #67 - October/November 2013 #68 - December 2013 (Best of 2013/Mix To Go Awards Issue) #69 - January/February 2014 (Rhythm & Soul Records Issue) #70 - March/April 2014 (Miami Music Week Issue) #71 - May 2014 (Dance Parade Issue) #72 - June 2014 (Black Music Month Issue) #73 - July/August 2014 (Summer Issue) #74 - September 2014 (6th Anniversary Issue) See you next month where-as you'll notice above-we feature the best of 2013 in our annual "Mix To Go Awards" focus. Thanks to the DJs, artists and music supporters who weighed in and for our film friends at Rotten Tomatoes for the #filmstogo winners...as well as the community activists who told us who the best charities and causes of the year are.
